Sunday January 16 2011 at Aldershot thousands turned up to run the GRIM. Held on the Army’s vehicle testing tracks, competitors run 8 miles in mud and water. Lots of spectators but it's tough to identify runners when they're caked in mud ! Spectators in pink wellies, runners in pink, even a pink morph! Thanks to all the generous spectators at the recent series of 20/ 20 matches at Lords. They donated more than £4000 during the two evenings which we attended. Middlesex has a unique fundraising partnership with Breakthrough Breast Cancer and this year, they’re aiming to hit their target of £100,000. Howzat!!!

The funfair in Hyde Park had rides galore, an ice rink and a Christmas market. We visited on January 3, the last day, with some sparkly pink accessories to cheer up Santa, Rudolf and the Snowman.

On November 9, the Txt Bar in South Croydon hosted a Mama Mia movie night, complete with popcorn and ice cream, and fabulous raffle . Huge thanks to Bar Manager Linda and her team who looked after us all and helped us to raise £250. We visited Durham in August. On the way back to the hotel, we walked through Fowlers Yard, past Julia’s workshop. I met Julia and her amazing bra ra dresses for the first time. She planned to make one out of pink bras to wear on the Fourth Plinth in Trafalgar Square in September. Back in London, I knocked on stage doors in search of celebrity donors – and met Jerry Hall and June Brown during their break at the Calendar Girls Stage Door! Barbara has lived at the same address for more than 50 years. Hundreds of people have walked up the path to garden parties, wedding receptions and family gatherings. Her garden is a quirky corner plot, crammed with gaudy, blowsy flowers, fruit trees, vegetables and lots of pots. Giddy summer colours!

Thank you to all the generous people who donated to PinkMondays first fund raising event on Monday September 28th!! Cooking dinner for 30 friends raised a staggering £1045!!! Huge thanks to everyone for their contributions, especially Rowland Brothers International who match funded the donations.

Monday October 5th we launched Donate for a Doughnut Day. Colleagues at Rowland Brothers Croydon Office put their hands in their pockets and gave an amazing £50 in return for iced pink doughnuts.
