Marvellous Merton

Huge thanks to players and supporters at  Merton's Memorial Day Game where the Old Uns played the Young Uns.   The Young Uns won the match - sorry, Old Uns better luck next time!!  And we raised £60 for Breakthrough. 

Cricket goes pink!!!

Thanks to all the generous spectators at the recent series of 20/ 20 matches at Lords. They donated more than £4000 during the two evenings which we attended. Middlesex has a unique fundraising partnership with Breakthrough Breast Cancer and this year, they’re aiming to hit their target of £100,000. Howzat!!!

The Witterings

Any Radio 4 listeners out there? Did you hear Charles Collingwood ( from The Archers) reminiscing about childhood holidays in West Wittering? Look no further, here is the beach at West Wittering, favourite haunt for beach combers . Check out this wonderful seaside town with it’s quirky seaside shops. Look out for a pink jelly sandal hanging in a tree...and enjoy the boats and pub at Itchenor .

The Wandering Line

The Wandering Line is a new shop in Brighton Road, Purley with everything for quilters - fabrics, threads, buttons, ribbons, and the most amazing long arm quilting machine which sews beautiful repeat patterns onto padded patchwork. My favourite pattern is dragonflies.

Piccadilly

Stroll through Burlington Arcade, past the Royal Academy with Anish Kapoor’s amazing sculpture in the courtyard , cross over to catch Fortnum and Masons’s beautiful Christmas windows, and finally greet the bronze statue of Beau Brummell, festooned with pink feathers and sequins.

Winter Wonderland

The funfair in Hyde Park had rides galore, an ice rink and a Christmas market. We visited on January 3, the last day, with some sparkly pink accessories to cheer up Santa, Rudolf and the Snowman.
